Cold Weather

During the winter i usually love the snow and cold weather. Sometimes though, the weather gets so bad you don't even want to go outside. When the weather gets this bad my routine throughout the day changes.

Normally i love to go out and be with friends, or just be outside. When it's really cold i like to stay indoors and spend time with my family. I rarely ever spend time with my family, so when these days come along they are very fun. We usually make a bunch of snacks and we play card games all day. Sometimes we watch movies together. Often times when I am unable to leave the house i get really relaxed and love to read. I am the type of person that would rather go out and be with people then sit down and read a book. So when the weather is crappy i take advantage of that time to read.

System of a Down has long been one of my favorite bands to listen to. When it comes to thier music, it is more a love for rock that draws them to me. Though one of thier song does hold some meaning, and brings me back to a time in my life that i will never forget. Lonely Day by System of a Down is a much more mellow song than the rest of the album and can really stir up my emotions when i hear it.

Last year, on march 15th, my grandparents were in a severe car accident in which my grandmother was killed instantly and my grandfather was sent to the E.R. in critical condition. My grandfather ended up dieing later that night from a stroke that he had suffered. I was very close with both of my grandparents and for me this was an extremely tragic event.

With lines like "Such a lonely day, Shouldn't exist, It's a day that I'll never miss", it always strikes an emotional chord and brings back memories of this day. I get reminded of the pain that i went through after the accident and how i had to grow as a person to deal with what happened.

My Favorite Place

Each year, my father and I take a summer trip to Canada for a fishing excursion. We start our trip each year with a 15 hour car ride up to a small outfitter that is pretty much in the middle of nowhere. From this outfitter we take a plane on a hour and a half flight to a cabin on a remote lake in the Canadian wilderness. There, we have acess to several boats to take out onto the lake and fish as we please.
This is my favorite place because there are no distractions out on the lake or in the cabin. It is a place that is away from home and free of worries and problems. I like being able just to enjoy nature and not have to worry about anything at all.
